Shift Light Module for Motec
MMsport in conjunction with MoTeC is proud to announce the release of the Shift Light Module (SLM). The new SLM is a CAN communications based shift light with eight individual LEDs that can each emit eight different colours at user defined brightness.
SLM Functions:
Any of the ADL2, SDL, M400, M600, M800, M880 or ACL MoTeC devices can be used to control the SLM. All of the MoTeC devices wil have special programming functions to send a CAN message to the SLM.
Being a CAN device, the SLM alows a simple wiring harness to be used to control the LED array, no longer is there a need to assign an individual light (single colour) to an individual output. No Aux outputs are required to run the SLM.
The Above picture ilustrates a possible use for the SLM being mounted on a steering wheel along with an MDD. The steering wheel would be controled from a Dash, Logger or an ECU.
When controled by an ECU the user will have an 8x4 table that wil set the colour of each light. For example the 8 lights could be used as a four stage shift light. The numbers in the table represent a specific colour (press F1 for information). The ECU software wil alow the user to set a fixed brightness for al the lights. The normal table axis setup available in version 3 software can be used to change the table’s Y axis scale and source channel, hint: it does not have to be RPM based.
The normal ECU Warning Light function can be enabled to use the outer two lights to indicate when one of the warning alarms has triggered.
SDL Control:
When used with an SDL the SLM can be configured as a four stage shift light as wel as having four User Condition channels and a Warning Alarm option. The number of lights, their colour and brightness for each can be individualy set for each display configuration
Software:
The SLM has no stand alone software package; it must be configured using the controlling device (Dash, Logger or ECU) SLM function. ECU version 3.42c, ADL2 4.42B, SDL 1 .52B or ACL 1 .1 1j or later must be used.
