TARI ( Tarmac and Rally Imports):

The donor car was sourced and imported directly from Tokyo Japan by Wes through his importing business TARI (Tarmac and Rally Imports), in conjunction with longtime friend and associate Barry Jupp. TARI is a recently established importing business that caters primarily to race and rally enthusiasts. Road cars may also be sourced to specific customer wishes. Customer requirements may range anywhere from car make and model, to the type of interior and number of kilometers found on the clock.

The benefit of using TARI’s importing services relates to the ability of both Wes and Barry being able to inspect any potential customer cars in the ‘metal’. This ensures that only cars and products of the highest caliber are delivered to the customer’s door on time, every time. The only prerequisites in place to import a race or rally car is that of obtaining a national rally or national circuit license from CAMS, something of which I’m sure that most people visiting this site would know. The shear volume and consistency of cars being pumped through the auction houses of Japan ensures cars of exceptional quality are available for lower prices. Wes’ STI, for example, was purchased for a mere $24 500 which is a fraction of the price for a similar model in Australia.

TARI’s association with Meridian Motorsport can streamline the process from simply purchasing a second hand import to a acquiring a fully kitted out race or rally vehicle with specific performance modifications. Any modification, whether to the engine, suspension or safety, is something that Meridian Motorsport will handle in conjunction with TARI to minimize your time away from the track.
